I was honoured to be invited to judge the Irish Bernese Mountain Dog Specialty in Dublin. It was my first visit to your beautiful country and I was full of expectations.
The sun shone throughout my visit and I met many wonderful and friendly people.
The atmosphere at the show ground was very nice and friendly and I was really glad to see exhibitors enjoying the day and helping each other.
It was great to see the enthusiasm of the exhibitors and the number of beginners who handled dogs in the ring for the very first time. Exhibitors and dogs were relaxed and this helped to create the lovely atmosphere.
I was really glad to award the Green Stars to two amazing Bernese of really high quality and I was thrilled to give the Best In Show title to an amazing female.
Many thanks to the organisers of this Specialty. Thanks to Mr. Paul Lawless for the invitation and many thanks to the exhibitors who made this day. I really hope they enjoyed it and big congratulations to the winners.

Graded Excellent.
3rd Murphy’s Carraigbern Love At First Sight - 18 month old tall male. Head still developing with narrower muzzle. Medium/dark eyes. Correct bite. Good pigmentation. Excellent topline. Enough depth of chest but still narrow. Forechest could be stronger. Front legs turned out. Good rear angulation. Elbowing in in front movement. Excellent character. Needs more substance for size. Graded Very Good.

Excellent character. A generally correctly built dog but would prefer more size and masculinity . Graded Excellent.
